Stability Is the Kraton’s Biggest Strength
The first thing I noticed with the Kraton was how comfortable it felt at higher speeds.
On loose dirt and rough grass, the truck remained surprisingly composed. It tracked straight, cornered predictably, and never felt like it was trying to surprise me.

When I was making long passes across an open field, the Kraton felt almost effortless to drive.
It Handles Rough Terrain Better Than You Might Expect
A lot of people buy monster trucks mainly for jumps, but I spend a good amount of time simply exploring rough terrain.
The Kraton excels here.
Its suspension absorbs bumps well, and the longer wheelbase helps it stay balanced over uneven surfaces.

The shorter wheelbase changes the truck’s personality dramatically. It rotates faster in the air and feels much more playful than the Kraton.
Jumping Is Where the Outcast Shines
If your favorite part of the hobby involves ramps, dirt mounds, and seeing how far a truck can fly before gravity wins, the Outcast is hard to beat.
I found myself actively looking for opportunities to jump it.
Small bumps became launch ramps.
Curbs became opportunities.
Even driving across uneven terrain felt more entertaining because the truck constantly wanted to lift its nose.
Smaller Areas Feel More Fun
Not everyone has access to a giant open field.
In tighter spaces, I actually found the Outcast easier to enjoy.
Its shorter wheelbase allows it to change direction more quickly, making it feel lively even when space is limited.
Durability – Kraton vs Outcast
One thing I genuinely appreciate about ARRMA vehicles is that they are built to be driven hard.
Both trucks survived crashes that probably should have ended my driving session.
The Kraton feels incredibly solid during fast runs across rough terrain.
The Outcast feels equally durable, but because it encourages bigger jumps and more aggressive driving, you may find yourself replacing parts slightly more often simply because you’re pushing it harder.
In my opinion, that’s not a weakness of the truck.
That’s just physics doing what physics does.
Which Truck Is Faster?
This question comes up constantly.
In real-world driving, the difference isn’t dramatic.
Both trucks are extremely fast.
What changes is how the speed feels.
The Kraton feels fast because it remains stable while carrying momentum.
The Outcast feels fast because it constantly keeps you busy correcting wheelies, adjusting landings, and reacting to its playful behavior.
If someone handed me a transmitter without telling me which truck I was driving, I could probably identify them within thirty seconds based solely on how they deliver speed.
Which One Is Better for Beginners?
If a friend asked me for advice today, I would probably recommend the Kraton first.
The handling is easier to understand.
The truck feels more forgiving.
And the learning curve is smoother.
That said, if the person’s main goal is jumping, stunts, and pure excitement, I’d point them toward the Outcast without hesitation.
There’s no wrong choice here.
The better choice depends entirely on how you plan to drive.

After spending time with both trucks, I honestly understand why each has such a loyal following.
The ARRMA Kraton feels mature, stable, and incredibly versatile. It’s the truck I would choose for long driving sessions, rough terrain exploration, and high-speed runs.
The ARRMA Outcast feels like pure entertainment. It’s the truck I would grab when my only goal is to have fun and see what kind of ridiculous stunt I can pull off before the battery dies.
I also believe many RC enthusiasts eventually end up wanting both.
If you value stability, control, and all-around performance, the Kraton is probably the better fit.
If you value wheelies, jumps, and a truck that constantly makes you smile, the Outcast is difficult to beat.
Either way, you’re getting one of the most enjoyable RC trucks available today, and that’s a pretty good problem to have.
