I’ve snapped more front axles than I want to admit, all in the name of finding an off-road RC car that could handle my backyard without falling apart by lunchtime. My first one lasted exactly one afternoon before a chassis crack ended the fun. The second one drowned in a puddle that was maybe two…
Best Drone with Obstacle Avoidance. The first time I took my drone up, I wasn’t thinking about the shot I wanted. I was thinking about the oak tree twenty feet to my left. My eyes bounced between the screen and the sky the whole flight, and by the time I landed I was more relieved…
Granite Grom RC Car Review I picked up the Granite Grom on a whim after a rough week, thinking it would just sit in a closet like half my other impulse buys. That was three months ago, and the thing still lives in my trunk. If you’re on the fence about grabbing one, I’ve got…
I still remember the first time I watched an RC boat rip across a lake so fast it left a wake like a real speedboat. I went home that night and bought the wrong one. Turns out “fast” on the box and “fast” on the water are two very different things, and it took me…
A few weekends ago, I grabbed one of my stadium trucks instead of my usual monster truck before heading to a local dirt field. I honestly expected it to be a fun change of pace, nothing more. By the time I packed everything back into the car, I couldn’t stop thinking about how much easier—and…
RC Drift vs Touring Car – Which One Is More Fun? A few years back, I honestly thought every on-road RC car was basically the same. If it had four wheels, a brushless motor, and looked fast, I figured I’d have a good time. After spending weekends with both drift cars and touring cars, I…
Before I started paying attention to battery life, I thought faster automatically meant better. Then one weekend, after swapping batteries every 20 minutes while driving RC cars with my daughter, I realized the constant charging breaks were cutting the fun short. That’s when I stopped shopping for speed alone and started looking for RC cars…
The first time I broke a driveshaft, I honestly thought my weekend was over. My RC truck landed what looked like a perfect jump, then suddenly it would barely move even though the motor sounded completely normal. I was already pricing replacement parts in my head, but after fixing it myself, I realized this is…
I still remember visiting a friend at a large university campus and wondering why almost everyone seemed to have an electric scooter. At first, I figured it was just another college trend. Then I borrowed one for a week, and by the second day, I realized I had been wasting a surprising amount of time…
Best Drone for Windy Conditions. I still remember the first time I tried flying a drone along the coast. The weather looked calm enough, so I figured it would be an easy flight. About two minutes after takeoff, a surprise gust shoved my drone sideways, and for a second I thought I was about to…
